Meet me in St Louis (Louis)

I have just finished watching Meet Me In St Louis with Judy Garland. Her voice is just so amazing and soulful, and watching the old costume attire is always interesting.

Haven't been up to all that much today - got out of bed, had a bath, sat out on the lawn with Lacey, played with her blue toy a bit, and gave her lots of cuddles. I am not all too sure where she will be going when we all move away, I would love to take her to Hamilton with me, but won't be allowed pets, and my parents aren't taking her to Australia with them :( My poor baby......

I would really like for her to go to a family that has kids, as she loves to play around them. She will sit and then shake hands, and roll over, and play with toys etc...but I guess things are just like they are eh.

Might go play a game of literati - and ponder the Lacey situation.
Merry Christmas for tomorrow!

Only 2 days to go! and then I will be eating even more food than usual, heaven forbid....hehe

So much has happened since I last posted. I will be transferring to Fonterra Hamilton as of January 11th and working as a Personal Assistant to General manager of HR, how cool. Our factory is shutting down in February anyway, so I need to move on.

My parents are moving to Australia on January 11th, which is good for them as well to start outreach missions or something like that, plus nice hot weather which I hope they enjoy. Not too sure where Lacey will be going though.

So I am getting ready to move down that way, might end up staying with Lesley's boss Karyn, which would be okay.

I plan on updating more often, now that I have time especially.

Cheers,
Ch

Last few weeks have been hectic - back at work trying to get the hang of things. Am now doing more of the Health and Safety side, since our H&S advisor left - and somehow my temp got me even more work to do, she didn't have the Payroll side to deal with, so now I have twice my old workload, fun stuff eh. It's been good, has been keeping me busy. My holiday was such a blast! Loved the whole lot, going up Mt Titlis in Switzerland, to visiting Mauthausen Concentration camp in Austria. Anyway, I have so many reports to update, don't want to get snowed under - will catch up on posts and others diaries as soon as I can.

Arrived here last night. Seems to be a bit warmer up here - at the moment, the fire is going out in the lounge, and we have a nice apricot pie in the oven - just had chicken stir fry for dinner...but yeah, don't think I could live with my parents full time.

Woke up to my Dad playing Literati on this computer which also happens to be in the room where I was sleeping, really charming - and my Mum thought she would follow for a "family chat" to talk about who knows what....so along with being dozy, was pretty cranky - if they do it again tomorrow, will be mad.....things seemed to get better by the afternoon though, hung out with Lisa and Jess and did the Singstar thing....yeah, I could so improve on my voice box....have also been on NZ Dating looking for prospective partners, they just don't know it yet, hehe....

When Lisa dropped me off after Jess's, found this cute little child standing in the doorway - seems that my family had visitors, the kid was so cute. He handed me his bottle, his snot rag, and many other items I could have done without. He started crying, so I picked him up, and took him outside to visit Lacey. She looked so happy, much happier than earlier, when I tried to put the dirty thing in the shower, and she escaped me. Thought the kid might give Lacey the dog biscuits I handed him - instead he put one in his mouth, oops....took it straight out...kids are so funny...one day Ch, one day....ah the amusement they provide...

My dad is watching the Rugby, and my Mum is just sitting at the kitchen table, eating her dessert, I now have my ice cream and pie near the computer, good stuff....might have a nice bath with bubbles soon....miss my bath lots.

Just went and saw Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's chest, I will always like #1 best - but this was good too, the theatre was all nice and warm, I almost drifted off. I only got about an hour of sleep last night, due to having way too much caffeine yesterday, was a funny set of events yesterday, was hyper most of the day, and then mellowed right down at night, trouble was lack of sleep, so I will be heading to hit the hay soon.

Today, started off being dull, just staring at my computer screen, reading many emails, and surfing the net at work, but then a dilemma with Payroll came up, and I had to suddenly pull myself out of my funky mood, and sort it out, which I did immediately, and was more awake after that. If you need anything to wake you up, just find out that someone didn't get paid yesterday, because their team leader or someone else didn't inform Payroll of their hours.

I applied for an HR Co-ordinator role in Palmerston North of all places for Fonterra. It sounds like the coolest job, would get to work in all facets of HR, do inductions, recruitment and selection etc and sort out training, right up my alley. So I sort of hope I get that, but realise I will be overseas when they would really want someone to start, so who knows, but I thought I would add my name to the mix anyway. But oh so cold, my Dad was warning me how cold it would be down there, he used to live that way in his Airforce days, but anyway, I could do it, I might freeze my butt off, but yeah, would learn to cope with it.

Anyway, I am going to head to bed now, see if I can get some sleep, otherwise I will be a real wreck tomorrow, and might be sleeping at my desk for real...jokes....

Just been looking at the new machinery that my boss went over and saw, they got it all on camera, which I uploaded to our common drive earlier today. Am craving coffee right now. Have enough caffeine in my system, might end up being hyper. Next door is the Production Meeting which they have every morning from about 9-9:30 ish, to see how the last 24 hrs went etc....seems to be a bit of an everybody scenario, good stuff...

Anyway, better go - Payroll Authorisation has just come through. Can't wait to find out what happens in following weeks, and for the next one when they make it...

Today, our target was meant to be 4 surveys I think, but I got 9 in tracking surveys for Media Research - would have been 10, but I gave one to the poor guy next to me who wasn't having much luck. <lj:music>Getting the best of you - ZM</lj:music>

Last night was lots of fun. He talks even more than me! It was just a really fun night out, it seems I have my quirks, and that he said if I was talking to myself then wiggle my ear, haha, he is such a cool guy. Don't think it would be any more than just friends - but it's nice to hang out with someone different than Lesley and myself. So at about 7 ish, headed around to his place to pick him up (his car is getting fixed I think), went in and met one of his flatmates...the place had play station and alcohol bottles everywhere...real guys flat, 5 of them live there. Got to talking with the flatmate, then this guy and I headed off....seems I had to navigate myself into the city - what a hoot, eventually got to the location, by this time we were both laughing. Got parking right outside, yay....so yeah, was a good night out. Very entertaining, he even paid, always a good thing, then I dropped him back to his flat, and headed home....so yeah, things are good right now, finished watching some videos with Lesley when I got back, and ate some fudge and choc of hers. Yum.

Just having my morning coffee now - oh yeah, Wednesday I was out on Training for the Holidays Act 2003, so I am clued up on leave etc and statutory requirements. The fun stuff. Tonight will catch up on Lost...that we taped from Wednesday also, as well as go to Kathmandu Sale in Botany, and find some thermal socks, oh and travel towels.

Also, loving the new pics and the new layout Sar, do those sunglasses have cocktails? very interesting....
I think Technical is cooking pizzas...hmm, yeah....fun stuff....

going to head off, not sure what I will do...so quiet, so quiet....might go on a webhunt for something fun.

Oh yeah, a special Fonterra deal with Microsoft means I can get the whole of MS Office (powerpoint, word, excel, access) + visio, project and front page editor and One Note for $20....wow...and thats just delivery and postage, this deal is so awesome...need a fonterra.com email address and credit card for this to happen....Happy Ch times.

    <lj:music>Lollipop Man - MIC</lj:music>

Just thinking about the weekend of Music Research - was ringing people, looking for females 25-44 who listened to either Classic Hits, Viva or More FM - seems that many guys are looking for women that age too, hehe, you had to be there, I just started laughing, it feels so good to laugh.

Was having my shower this morning and the light bulb fuzzled out, so I went and got one after work today, to find out I brought the wrong one...hmm, typical that is. Max Parkin (part of the Fonterra Leadership team) was calling today, and one of the guys asked who he was. I tried to explain, but yeah, they're not too worried about who's who out there in the world of Fonterra.

Payroll is going so well this week so far - all been entered today, the Team Leaders have been doing it for themselves which is awesome, so happy for them and me because they made no mistakes (must be my lovely teaching), jokes...so happy in that aspect, my hands are cold...can't work out where my mittens are..woolie hat, you name it, not sure...

Oh yeah, I got my Recruiter access back on Snaphire, yay...so happy...right, better go clean that kitchen up, decided to do some cooking tonight...devilled sausages, carrots, broccoli and cheese sauce, good stuff...not much a fan of potatoes, way too much effort, peeling, mashing or scalloping...do like them mashed with herbs and stuff in them.

Hmm, just checking out diet pills on the internet....Thermolean looks interesting - the doctor said exercise should be good enough for me - but I really wanted a green prescription, so I could get into a cheaper exercise program, coaxed him into giving me one of those, erk...better tidy up the kitchen....put the rubbish out...clean the bench, put away tomorrow nights dinner too....movie on in a little over half an hour, Lara Croft Tomb Raider 2. so yeah, do some stuff before then....oh and put my washing away *sighs* - such a lazy bum.

Talk later,
Ch

Patience is a virtue

    <lj:music>Who knew - Pink</lj:music>

Taking my internet ages to load - was just reminded that 'Patience is a virtue' - a comment made in the week when I went nuts at the Fonterra Helpdesk, I sent out this less than nice email and copied all our Grated Cheese staff into it. After writing payroll manually, and the system going down again later in the week, I had just had it, and HR wasn't helping any with other issues, so that made me react. Everything eventually got sorted. My boss just flicked myself and our Production Manager an email saying - 'Patience is a virtue.' in his would be sarcastic way, yep...so last week was definitely where patience was needed. Survived I guess....

I was sitting in the dark at work writing letters to people. lol, the weirdest things to do and the oddest times. I really had to get my opinions out there to someone. I think everything is good now with everything. Plodding along, as I say.

Was at work doing Music Research today and yesterday (part time weekend job). The girl next to me fell asleep, so I decided to prod her (working hours and all), I got the most evillest look, she obviously didn't like being woken, such a lovely gal normally.

Lesley is away for the weekend until sometime next week I think....so enjoying the time to myself, been freezing - just been at Sar's live journal, and she has been talking about the sun - all I can hear now is the rain. Ready to curl in bed soon, was going to watch The Recruit on tv with the heater on, but have seen many times, and CSI looked a bit spooky for my tastes....especially if the power cuts off again tonight, like it did the other night. I would usually look at my alarm clock, and nothing, I thought I was dreaming.

Speaking of dreams - was at a convention yesterday, it was probably a church gathering or something....all I remember is that we were having Roast Chicken and vegies for lunch....sounded good to me, and my Dad was going to stand up and give his testimony, but all I wanted was lunch. My Dad's testimony is pretty good, he told it in Australia....he was a naughty lad when younger, you name it....he did it, jail, gambling etc etc. My Mum is even more straight laced than I am, she has been good for as long as I can remember. I turned out okay though, my Dad sorted it out when a Ch arrived in the world.

I am rambling here....but yeah, hope work is all good tomorrow - just imagine nothing working, and myself blasting the helpdesk again. I am normally such a placid person, but have been known to tell some off if they irk me too much.

My boss is over in Germany/Denmark all week looking at machines I think for work...so blissful Ch times....ugh, what have I done to my computer now - accidentally clicked some buttons and my scroll bar has disappeared..what's the command for that? fsomething....
ah well, gonna go hunt for that.....

    <lj:music>None - just realised....turning radio on</lj:music>

The last few days have been hectic. On Monday, the power was all out across Auckland, many of the CBD got theirs back at 12:30 noon, but we didn't until 4pm ish, went home early that day anyway. Tuesday, we find that our networks are totally down. You see, I would usually enter Payroll during the Monday, or on Tuesday morning if I ran out of time on Monday. Cut off is about 10 am on a Tuesday. So I was upset because there was no way I could enter payroll, I had to write it in manually and then fax it to our Payroll to enter in system manually - this was for over 100 staff....so I was in a bad mood on Tuesday, ready to throw all my toys out of the cot. Yesterday (Wednesday) spent a lot of the day in catch up mode. Presentations (one that was due for today) got that done, plus running over Payroll reports, doing up Production sheets for the time that was out, working on KPI's and leadership tasks. Phew. Today has been much better, just did up sick leave report and letters for staff along with helping Finance out with some invoices/tracing etc - which I haven't finished yet - got to go and do now. Feels like I have been abandoning this journal.

My Mum went home yesterday morning, her stay was nice, we went out to Valentines, Tuesday night for dinner...was yum....and then just laxed back and watched Charmed....

better get going, before I have accountants at me! Would figure.

This week has gone past like a blur. Lesley got some big news, good for her - but looks like she will be moving when we get back from overseas. So yeah, I will be all alone....with no place, but on the bright side, will still have a job - yeah, look on the bright side of things.

Am currently just curled in my sleeping bag while on the computer, Survivor starts in half an hour - and not long after that my mother will arrive to visit. She has hospital checks tomorrow or something - has to be there early as, so ol Ch will be up extra early, and probably I will be sleeping on the couch, at least it's comfy. Texted this other guy today - he is 27 and into the Finance arena. His exams end on 22nd June, so we might go for coffee after that, would be nice to meet new people - last would have been in January when I was even near a guy as such. It's weird, I usually go through a phase - which has a range of emotions. First I get clingy, because I think I am going to lose a person, am sweet if I think all is sweet, and then they leave, I go a tad funny to put it at least, and eventually I mellow out, good grief. When I do find the 'right' person, I would be a sticker by, that person that doesn't make you feel like you're about to lose them, and then actually leave. Still awaiting that day. Lesley saw me going through this phase, she thought it was funny at times. She knows me probably better than anyone out there, and reckons I am pretty cool and easy going most times. And it looks like she might move, so many people don't understand me. Just thinking of the weird looks in disbelief that Lisa and Lesley give me - like yeah....what was she thinking, lol.

I think way too much about everything - Lesley told me this the other day in all honestly. Jumping to the wrong conclusions about some things, haha - but I know in others, I am totally right. A thinker, I am...makes me who I am.

I have 3 guys that want to meet me - but I am so freaked out, and even though people tell me that I should so do it....not sure.....I will go out for coffee with that guy, he is a friend of someone I know, and they reckon he is a nice guy, and well to be truthful, single life can be a drag....miss my hugs....hmm....

Might go tidy my room a bit, if my Mum is supposed to sleep here....ol thinker Ch......

Recap - went back to Dargaville on Saturday morning to hang out for the weekend, things were a mind boggle. One of my friends had her windows smashed, and came and stayed with us, problem is...she gets very irritable and stresses out at the smallest thing - which led to one big headache for the rest of us. My family is usually so calm and easy going - but phew. It was nice to see them all again. Went out for dinner with my Nana on Sunday night, that was good, I can't believe that she is getting older....but I guess that's the way it is.

So cold right now - I am going to head off soon and have my green tea. Work was busy, I was in the midst of payroll so my boss booked his own international travel - some PA eh....

anyway, tata. oh p.s...thinking of heading to Louisiana to hang out with Kates, simply because it is warm.

Was having a lovely first half of the morning, replying to emails, sending out forwards - when one of my workmates sent me this blood curling one - it really freaked me out a bit, but wasn't going to show how much. It had this story about a girl that haunted her dorm and committed suicide, anyway, at the end she let out this blood rippling scream which just suddenly popped up on my computer screen, and since I turned up the volume so I could hear whatever it was I was meant to hear, was about to clip the ears of the guy who sent it to me. Not impressed.

Anyway, looking past that, was an okay day. Didn't do a lot today - just dawdled on the computer, did up a couple of production sheets, just laxed out a bit. Got chatting with one of the technical staff I hardly ever talk to, she has family from up where I am, really nice lady.

Oh yeah, am waking up early tomorrow to head up to Dargaville to hang out with Ma and Pa and Lacey.....miss my dog a lot - I just recall her days at the beach, where she would run into the water, out again, then back in only to do her droppings, used to shock me, whereas my Dad reckoned she probably felt pretty good after that.

Going to visit my pals up north. If I have nightmares tonight, flip....am looking forward to my bubble bath up north, should be fun.

    <lj:music>MIC - Lollipop Man</lj:music>

We had a work farewell today for Lesley's boss in Fonterra who works at the same factory as I do ironically - she is our site accountant, and will be until Friday, her new replacement would be about Lesley and my age, he seems nice. Lesley, Christine and I organised it. Lesley got the present, Christine, the card, flowers and vouchers - I managed the food side of it. So yum. We had Subway platters, cheesecake, muffins, savoury items. Everyone was so full at the end of it. There was heaps of it left, took up to the production staff, they were happy as. I ate way too much food today - lots of wonton things, with squid rings etc....cake, afghans, subway sandwich I saved up for lunch with a banana, plus my huge dinner I just had....blimp like right now.

Day went pretty good, started off doing payroll, just lounging back, answering my work emails, just sifting through. Filling out a stolen cellphone form for a guy at work. My boss rang me at 9:30 last night to get into my emergency contact register, seems he thought he had lost his wallet, and thought another guy might have it...hmm, this morning he said it was in his office all along. Hmm, not sure why he was still at work at that time of night anyway...probably not giving me enough to do, I am always out at exactly 4:30 pm or earlier.
Worked on production reports, sorting out queries, sussing remote assistance, seems I can help people on their computers, while they are in a different location and on their own computer, weird stuff...the helpdesk did it with me the other day, to install a new something or another on my computer....and I am always doing their fix ups for them.

My 'net has been playing up a lot lately, eg logging out as soon as I am in from home....I thought not having MSN was bad enough, try no internet, seems to be working now though for a bit.

Lesley was talking about how I would vote if there were a referendum to force people to stop smoking. Hmm, seems an MP on TV wants to bring in a bill of the sort. I don't know what I'd do - on the one hand I don't smoke, but if you suddenly forced this off some of my mates, I think things would go from bad to worse. One of my students back in Dargaville, who used to be a Mental Health worker used to make some interesting remarks about smoking - that is was a way to release stress and many wouldn't know what to do, if it was taken off them. I really don't know how I would vote. On one hand, a clean green New Zealand, well not really, we pollute in other ways. I mean, myself not being a smoker wouldn't mind either way, but I would hope if anything of the sort was passed that they had measures in place to cope with the strain on people, and just didn't ignore them.

And yeah....sorting mail is about as interesting as the Roadshow....and *hugs* Sar, hope you're okay now chica.

Listening to the coolest song on the radio - "I don't want to do this anymore, I don't want to be the reason why....I don't want to hurt him anymore, I don't want to take away his life....I don't want to be a Murderer." Such an awesome song - will google later who this is.

Currently just at reception - one of the joys of the job - meeting and greeting people. We have this IS roadshow on today for our new Fonterra systems they will put in for June - was just giving one of the guys who is running it cheek, asking where our info packs and pens are. And he was like - "What. We don't do that." lol. A 2 hour presentation on all our new systems - ringing this dude in IT. It seems my day consists of being cheeky and giving everyone else the run around. Oh and payroll in the middle with the usual dilemmas.

Anyway, better go sort the mail - or something...

Keep smilin :)
Ch.
